CONSTRUCTION ALERT CRAYCROFT RD.

This is a continuing series of construction alerts that will be issued throughout the construction of the Craycroft Road Improvement Project, River Road to Sunrise Drive. These alerts will announce construction, detour and closure information as it affects traffic. Motorists are asked to obey all posted speed limit signs within the construction area and be alert for construction crews and personnel working in the area.
Due to weather, paving of the final course of rubberized asphalt south of Camino del Celador has been delayed until late spring of 2008. At that time, the remaining work will be done with Craycroft open to traffic and localized lane closures as needed. It is estimated that the final paving, striping, adjustments and clean up will be done in one month’s time. Construction of all other improvements will continue as scheduled.
DURING THE WEEK OF January 14, 2008
Over the next couple weeks, motorist should expect intermittent lane closures while landscaping is completed and utility adjustments are made.
The speed limit will remain at 35 MPH for the next couple weeks while landscaping, hand and guardrail installation and other miscellaneous activities are completed.
ACCESS TO ALL BUSINESSES REMAINS OPEN
IN THE EVENT OF MECHANICAL FAILURE OR INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE ABOVE SCHEDULE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
The Pima County Department of Transportation (PCDOT) and the contractor advise motorists to utilize alternate routes when possible. Please remember that workers on this and all other road construction and maintenance projects are real people too, with families and loved ones who want them to come home safe and sound. Please drive safely, give the workers a "brake" and obey all posted speed limit signs within the construction area. PCDOT and Hunter Construction Co. would like to thank the residents and businesses in the area for their patience and cooperation while this work is underway.
PCDOT is a proud participant in "Friends and Family of Roadway Workers,"
co-sponsored by the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. Slow down! You may save a life!
